Head chef Raju Rawat has over 15 years experience working in both the UK and the subcontinent. Having trained at one of India's finest five star hotels, The Oberoi in New Delhi, Raju went on to work at the Michelin starred Benares in Mayfair, held prominent roles at both the Cinnamon Club and Bombay Bicycle Club before moving on to help develop popular Indian Street food brand, Moolis.
Aamir Ahmad is one of the UK's most respected entrepreneurs. Ahmad sold Dwell, his 30-strong chain of UK-wide contemporary furniture stores, in early 2013 a decade after he co-founded the business with Sean Galligan now his partner in Zumbura. Opening the restaurant looks set to fulfil a dream by Ahmad who says he wants to "provide the kind of food I ate when I was growing up, but within a restaurant setting". Delving deep into the family archives, the menu has been created using recipes that his family have been cooking at home for generations.
